- Typical investigation is one kind of investigation which is not in an all-round way either, and it consciously chooses several typical representatives to make investigations deep, careful and systematical from numerous investigation objects. The main purpose to carry on typical investigation does not lie in making the overall number values of the social economic phenomena, but lies in understanding the vivid concrete conditions correlated with relevant figures.
- The advantages of typical investigation are lined as following: small investigation range, small samples size, flexible, concrete deepening, saving manpower financial resources and material resources ,etc.. Its disadvantage is that it is difficult to choose typical samples which are really representative. And it can be easily influenced by human factors, thus there are certain tendentious nesses in the investigation conclusion. Generally speaking, the result of typical investigation is difficult for calculation of overall figures.
- Generally speaking, there are two kinds of typical investigations:
- The first is general typical investigation that is investigation to the specific model samples. This typical investigation chooses the minority typical samples.
